ITINERARY
CUSCO – MOLLEPATA – SORAYPAMPA – HUMANTAY LAKE – CUSCO
Our adventure towards the HUMANTAY Lagoon begins with the pick-up of your hotel at 4:30 a.m., to head for 2 hours by transport to MOLLEPATA where we will have a nutritious breakfast.
Then we will continue with the journey for an extra hour to the Bus Station of SORAYPAMPA. Continuing our adventure towards the HUMANTAY Lagoon (4200 m.s.n.m.).
We start to ascend by a pampas with beautiful views, if the sky is clear we will have the opportunity to appreciate from afar the imposing Apus of SALKANTAY and HUMANTAY (The Apus are Incas deities). Our ascent from SORAYPAMPA to the HumanTAY Lagoon lasts approximately 1 hour and a half (5 km), but it is also possible to rent a horse if you wish.
The walk is considered between an easy to moderate level, but all the effort will be rewarded with a magical view of the lagoon. There we will have enough time to enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds us, fill us with energy, take pictures and make a brief offering to the Apus.
Then we start our descent from the HUMANTAY Lagoon to SORAYPAMPA which lasts about 1 hour and a half, an easier walk than the climb. When we return to SORAYPAMPA we will take the return transport to MOLLEPATA where a rich lunch (buffet) awaits us and then we will take our transport back to the imperial city of Cusco at 6 pm.
